The Rotary Club of Taichung Northwest visited the Correctional Education Center of Taichung Prison to donate a batch of Western musical instruments such as electronic organs, electric bass, expanded speakers, jazz drums, and cymbal sets, which will help them rehabilitation and education inmates and help them return to society. On behalf of the Taichung Prison, Mr. Wu, the deputy superintendent of the prison, received the gift of musical instruments, and returned the certificate of appreciation and the scholar cake from self-run business. Since its establishment in 1990, the Western musical instruments Club has taught the inmates to learn musical instruments, cultivate a skill and legitimate leisure and entertainment, and urged professional teachers to teach them, encourage the students of the club to study and train seriously. Finally dozens of inmates from this club have been admitted to the Taichung City Street Artist License. They will perform on stage during the family activities and the visits of external guests. These activities can not only encourage and enhance their self-confidence, but also can show the correctional outcome from prison.
