Taichung Prison holds inmates who need dialysis in its own in-prison hospital, Peide Hospital.  In addition to the hospital’s professional medical assistance, the prison also arranged metal health social workers to provide counseling services and created a special program, Draw your life, to enhance the holistic health care for those on dialysis.
Through art therapy, the program aims to cultivate the participants’ interests in art and enrich their life by integrating festive experiences.  Furthermore, it also stimulates their peripheral circulation and hand-eye-brain functionality, fosters a sense of achievement through completing artworks and reduces the overall effects of physical degeneration and barriers to leisure as well.
