“Reading Party” is a program in particular designed to introduce the elderly inmates to grasp the meanings of the stories behind the picture books and experience the joy of role-playing through interactive reading methods such as picture book reading and role portraying. In the course, the participants followed the storyline from the picture books to reflect on their own life experiences and then share life advices with each other. Moreover, they also immersed themselves in a fantasy world to discover different aspects of themselves. As a result, the practices the inmates exercised in the class could effectively enhance their confidence and sense of self-worth.
