To encourage inmates to quit smoking and to firm their determination as well, a family reunion specially held at smoking cessation workshop on January 2nd & 3rd which helped relieve inmates’ suffering from missing family and also urge them to improve themselves. This event is one of the activities Taichung Prison holds for the inmates and their family annually during three critical holidays on the island to strengthen family support and the family assistance program, in which inmates’ family had an opportunity to get a better understanding about many reforming measurements the correction agency engages in and inmates’ life in prison.

By end of the occasion, the Deputy Superintendent Dai particularly showed up to meet inmates’ family members, and his amiable, kind greeting and concern impressed participants greatly. He also encouraged the inmates in the reunion to do their best to live up to their family’s hope and expectations to return home as early as possible and work hard to make a better future for himself and the family.
